The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) final rule for Current Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food (i.e., the Preventive Controls Rule) includes a requirement that food facilities have Preventive Controls Qualified Individuals (PCQIs) on staff.
